Carrington Primary School - Art 2021

During on-site learning, throughout Term 1 and 2, Carrington Primary School incorporated different focuses including various artists, elements and Aboriginal styles.

Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students have been working with Claude Monet artwork, specifically focusing on the element of water lilies. Students have also been investigating primary and secondary colours with the introduction of different paper forms.

Year 3 and 4 students have been creating 3D water lilies using Claude Monet as inspiration to design. Students incorporated painting and structured paper form to create their masterpieces. They have also been able to use Aboriginal symbols to design their own stories and create through the process of dot painting.

Year 5 and 6 students have created various Aboriginal inspired artwork pieces incorporating dot paintings and symbols. Students excitedly engaged with this unit to create different artwork based on Aboriginal styles that decorates our hallways. The students have also investigated the use of watercolour to create different planets during the week of National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS).
