Knox Park Primary School - Art 2021

The students at Knox Park Primary are always highly enthusiastic, determined and focused during Visual Arts and have produced some amazing artworks whilst on-site this year. Some of the artists we used for inspiration during 2021 included Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Picasso, Jim Dine, Wayne Thiebaud, Cassie Stephens, Todd Parr and Romero Britto.

Students had the opportunity to further investigate and develop their painting, printing, modelling, drawing, weaving, sewing, collage, sculpting and mixed-media skills and they created many stunning artworks using these techniques. They were invited to experiment with a large variety of materials and tools whilst practicing each process and utilised these when making their artworks.

We are hoping that once fully back on-site our students will get the chance to finish and paint their clay models and sculptures that we started before Remote Learning.

One very exciting addition to our program this year was the introduction of steampunk for the Year 6’s. Steampunk is an art movement inspired by the industrial revolution, using imagery from the industrial era including machine parts like cogs and rivets, clockwork and laboratory equipment with design and futuristic concepts such as robotics. One example of a finished sculpture was luckily able to be finished early to include in this showcase.

I am so proud of our Knox Parkers – their artistic talent and creativity continues to amaze and inspire me each and every week! Please enjoy only a snapshot selection of the brilliant art created by Knox Park students in 2021!
